Bayer Leverkusen 0-2 Schalke
Two goals from Kevin Kuranyi took Schalke to the top of the standings in a 2-0 win at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.Kuranyi scored twice in the first half as a dominant Schalke got the better of third-placed Leverkusen at the BayArena to move two points clear of Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich 1-2 Stuttgart
Bayern Munich were dealt a blow as they slumped to a second successive 2-1 defeat in the Bundesliga as Stuttgart came from behind to stun Bayern in front of their own fans.
Everything seemed to be going according to plan when Ivica Olic put the Bavarians in front in the 32nd minute, but Christian Trasch equalised just before half time.
A Ciprian Marica header early in the second half earned Christian Gross' side all three points and took them up to seventh in the table.
Werder Bremen 4-2 Nurnberg
Ten-man Werder Bremen nearly blew a three-goal lead before holding on for a 4-2 home victory over Nurnberg to remain in the running for a Champions League qualification spot.Per Mertesacker scored for Bremen after just 40 seconds and doubled Bremen's lead in the 20th minute. Tim Borowski made it 3-0 for the hosts after 36 minutes.
But Mike Frantz got Nurnberg on the scoreboard in the 47th minute and Eric Maxim Chupo-Moting converted from the spot after 63 minutes as the visitors threatened a comeback.
Bremen captain Torsten Frings was sent off in the 82nd minute before Clemens Fritz scored again for the hosts three minutes into stoppage time.
