Jose Mourinho returns to manage Chelsea with a four-year deal

The worst secret in English footbal has been confirmed - Jose Mourinho has been confirmed as Chelsea's manager, returning for a second spell in charge at the London club.

Mourinho, who is now 50, replaces Rafael Benitez after leaving Real Madrid, and has signed a four-year contract and will bring three coaching staff with him in Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais.

The Portuguese manager won two consecutive Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups during his first spell at Chelsea, which ended in September 2007.
